Seems well made and does supply some juice. Very little. A tiny trickle to keep a decent battery in a parked car from dying. Make sure it’s pointed as directly at the sun at midday as possible.
It is in two parts, the panel and a voltage regulator. You could hook the panel directly to your battery and get a little more juice out of it since the regulator wastes some. But warning, a direct link might let it act as a drain at night, haven’t tested it.

my dad’s battery died, but he couldn’t replace it until he got the trunk open…unfortunately my nephew lost the trunk key a couple of weeks before. So, I bought this for my dad to get him by until he gave up on the search for the key and finally called a locksmith, or until the key showed up. It works great. you just plug it into the cigarette lighter and poof…in about an hour or two the car starts up like magic! fantastic. I don’t think my dad has even bothered to look for the key in a couple weeks.

i have it my back window, and keep the plug under the front seat, it doesn’t clutter the dashboard.

I bought this just to keep batteries charged on a vehicle I don’t always drive every day. There is a little light that flashes when it is charging and I was surprised that it would do a good job even on cloudy days. You can plug it into the cigarette charger and lay it on the dash.

This is a pretty simple device and seems to work, but I haven’t tried a long period of time without using the vehicle as yet. That will have to wait for a vacation. I have to jiggle the lighter connection and confirm that the indicator light shows that it is working. I kind of wish I could fashion a direct connect to the battery such as a trickle charger I once had could, and somehow keep it permanently attached. These, however, are small gripes. The charger seems to be working well, and if keeps my battery from draining while I’m on vacation it will have met all my expectations of value.
